Jim has practiced law since 1991. Since 1993, he has helped people who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents. Although he has settled many cases for his clients, he has also litigated numerous cases throughout the State of Virginia.

“At Cooper Hurley, we are firm believers that you must be prepared to litigate a case to protect our clients rights,” Jim says.

During his career, Jim has been involved in approximately 100 jury trials as well as hundreds of litigation matters that settled before trial. He spends extensive time with his clients helping them prepare them for trial.

“As a trial lawyer, it is one of my most important jobs to be sure my client understands the litigation process so that they can tell the juries their stories of how their injuries changed their lives,” he says,

Jim has also tried hundreds of cases in front of various Judges in Virginia, and has argued cases both in State and Federal Court.

Jim specializes in  helping clients who have suffered in car, truck or motorcycle accidents, and has written books on auto accidents. He is a member of American Association for Justice, American Bar Association, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Virginia State Bar Association and Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association.
