By John Cooper, Virginia Beach Cyclist Accident Injury Lawyer
Virginia Beach has seen numerous accidents between cars and cyclists over the last two years.
On July 18, another accident sent a bicyclist to a local hospital, in a serious condition. Virginia Beach police are continuing to investigate a crash involving a bicycle and an SUV at the intersection of Indian Lakes Boulevard and Hiawatha Drive.

As an experienced Virginia Beach cycling accident injury attorney, I was concerned to read a 14-year-old cyclist was taken to a local hospital in a critical condition.
Channel 13 news reported the crash occurred at 5:41 p.m. as the boy on a bicycle attempted to cross Indian Lakes from the Indian Lakes Apartments on Hiawatha.
According to reports, a black Mercedes SUV heading north on Indian Lakes Boulevard struck the bicyclist.
EMS spokesperson, Bruce Nedelco, told Channel 13, the boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police say charges have not been brought against the driver. The boy was not wearing a helmet. Head and brain injuries are often suffered by cyclists in crashes, although the exact nature of the boy’s injuries were not revealed.
