VA Beach Auto Accident Attorney Report – One Killed, Three Injured in Albemarle County, VA Crash

By John Cooper, Virginia Beach Car Accident Injury Lawyer

Accidents in which cars are rear-ended are among the most common crashes we see as experienced Virginia Beach, VA, car accident injury lawyers.

They can also be deadly. Police have been investigating an accident on Interstate 64 in Albemarle County, Virginia, that killed one person and injured three others, NBC29 reported.

The crash occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on May 10, 2012, involved two vehicles near the Keswick exit of the I-64.

“A 1995 Lincoln Town Car was traveling west on I-64 when it rear-ended a 2000 Subaru Outback. The impact caused the Subaru to run off the right side of the road, strike the guardrail and overturn onto its roof,” Virginia state police said in a press release.

Four patients were transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment for their injuries.  The driver of the Subaru, John A. Woodworth, 70, of Afton, Va., and his wife, and two other passengers were all transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. One of the passengers, Peter H. David, 70, of Washington, DC, died at the hospital.

The 25-year-old driver of the Lincoln town car was not injured. He was later charged with reckless driving, according to state police.

As Virginia Beach auto wreck accident attorneys we see numerous accidents in which a momentary lapse of attention has led to serious and sometimes fatal results.

Our thoughts are with the family of the victim and we hope the other people who were injured in this wreck make a complete recovery. If you were injured when you are rear-ended by another driver you have a case to make a claim and should consider talking to an experienced VA Beach serious injury lawyer.
