Alcohol use will be part of an investigation after a truck flipped over making a turn in Virginia Beach, killing the 24-year-old driver.
The man, a resident of Virginia Beach, died on the morning of May 9, 2012 after an accident in the 400 block of Mango Drive in the Malibu section of Virginia Beach, the Daily Press reported.
Police identified the driver of the Ford Ranger pickup as Brian Michael Rosner. The man, who lived on Mango Drive — was heading west on Alcott Road when he “made a wide right turn onto Mango Drive,” the police news release said
When Rosner tried to correct the turn, the truck hit a guide wire, which forced it to flip onto its roof. “The force of the crash caused the truck’s roof to collapse on the driver’s side,” the Daily Press reported.
As experienced Virginia Beach car and truck accident lawyers, our thoughts are with the family of this victim.
A passenger who was in the pickup truck was able to escape from the accident unharmed.
Rosner died at the scene, but his passenger was able to escape the crash unharmed, according to the news release.
Police said both the victim and his passenger were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash, but “alcohol use will be a part of the investigation.” the Virginia Beach police news release said.
Although it’s not yet clear if alcohol was a factor, our experienced Virginia Beach DUI accident injury attorneys see far too many crashes linked to alcohol was a contributing factor in Virginia’s largest city.
